How to use the online neon sign maker
Begin with text or upload an existing logo. Work through the four design steps in order: text and colour, size and placement, shape and finish, then power and extras. Every selection remains visible in the preview and written design summary.
You do not need an account to experiment. Make several versions, compare them in day and night mode, and download the strongest option when you are ready to request a quote.
- Text, logo, font and colour
- Preset or custom dimensions
- Indoor or weatherproof construction
- Cut-to-shape, cut-to-letter, rectangle or circle acrylic
- Backboard finish, dimmer and mounting hardware
Start with text or upload a logo
Text mode is best for names, quotes and messages that can be created with the built-in font library. Enter up to three lines, then compare script, block, vintage and specialty lettering. Logo mode is better when exact brand shapes matter.
For a logo, use a clean SVG whenever possible. A transparent high-resolution PNG can also work for the concept preview. Small gradients, shadows and photographic details will usually need to be simplified into shapes that can be formed with illuminated tubing.
Choose colours that work in the room
Preview the colour against the room rather than choosing it in isolation. Warm colours feel inviting and often suit homes, weddings and hospitality spaces. Cool blues, white, mint and green can feel more modern and may contrast better with brick, concrete or dark walls.
Use day mode to see the unlit tubing and acrylic. Use night mode to judge the halo and nearby contrast. RGB lets the installed sign change colour; multicolour assigns different colours to parts of the design.
Set the right dimensions
Finished neon sign dimensions are measured across the acrylic backboard, not by a familiar font-point size. Long words become wide quickly. Stacking a phrase can reduce width, but it increases height and changes how the design fills the wall.
Measure the usable wall space and mark the proposed outline with painter’s tape. Step back to the normal viewing distance and photograph the outline. This simple check is more reliable than estimating scale from a screen alone.
Select acrylic, mounting and power options
Cut-to-shape acrylic follows the outside of the design for a minimal look. A rectangle or circle makes the backboard part of the composition, while cut-to-letter construction reduces visible material around separate characters. Clear acrylic blends into many rooms; coloured or mirrored finishes add contrast.
The mounting kit must suit the surface. A dimmer is useful in bedrooms, event venues and camera backgrounds. Confirm the power lead location before ordering so the cable can reach an outlet without crossing the centre of the installation.
Design indoor and outdoor neon signs
Choose outdoor construction when the sign may be exposed to moisture or changing weather. Weatherproof treatment protects the sign itself, but the power supply, connections and installation method must also be suitable for the location.
An outdoor label does not replace local electrical or signage requirements. Ask the supplier what rating applies to the finished product and use a qualified installer when the project or jurisdiction requires one.
Download and request a supplier quote
When the design is complete, open the supplier step and download the preview as PNG or SVG. The file and summary keep the wording, font, colour, dimensions and production selections together.
You decide whether to continue. Upload the downloaded image on the supplier’s request-a-quote form; the site does not send your artwork automatically. The supplier then confirms buildability, final dimensions, current pricing and its own checkout terms.
Questions people ask
Can I design an outdoor neon sign?
Yes. Choose Outdoors to include weatherproof treatment in the design specification.
Where do I buy the finished sign?
Choose a supplier after completing the design. The supplier confirms buildability, pricing and checkout details.
Is the neon sign generator free?
Yes. You can design, preview and download a concept without creating an account.
Can I make a neon sign from a logo?
Yes. Upload an SVG or transparent PNG, then configure the size, acrylic, installation and production options.
Does the generator place an order?
No. It creates a preview and design brief. You choose whether to download it and upload it to the available supplier for a quote.
